Armistice Day 2021 at South Staffordshire College

November 2021

Public Services Students at Cannock College Remembrance Day 2021

Today, staff and students at South Staffordshire College have joined the nation in commemorating Armistice Day.

Learners from our public services course led an open-air parade at Tamworth College, and a socially distanced indoor parade at Cannock College to recognise the occasion.

Staff and students from the wider college community joined them in a two-minute silence at the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

The Last Post was played note perfectly by Pete Groves, and the Flander Field poem was also recited.

Public Services tutor, Ian Pringle said “Remembrance Day is a very important day for me personally as Forces Veteran but also for our public service students and wider college. I am hugely proud of our students and the commitment they have shown on the day to mark Remembrance Day. Thank you to the wider college community for the respect shown”.
