Horticulture is a growing industry! The green spaces that surround us such as private gardens, vast estates or public spaces, all need management and maintenance, as well as growing food for our increasing population.

Horticulture is one of the larger employment sectors in the UK today, average regional earnings range from £18-29k. The wide range of jobs on offer is amazing ranging from working in garden centres, landscaping through to therapeutic horticulture and the benefits to the health of the population.

Key information

Training takes place on our Rodbaston estate and is further supplemented by close links with regional industry experts. You will be taught through a combination of classroom and practical activities that replicate the skills and knowledge required by modern industry.

You will be required to complete a minimum of 150 hours industry experience, a vital part of further developing employability prospects.

You will be required to purchase your own protective equipment such as overalls and safety boots.

As well as achieving a nationally recognised technical qualification in Horticulture you can also achieve qualifications in English and maths.
