Vacancy Description:

Excellent opportunity for a young person to gain experience and training in a range of gardening/groundsman activities working for a well-established Stafford based tree surgeon. You will need to be enthusiastic with a love for working outdoors (whatever the weather)!  The job involves lawn mowing, strimming, blowing, spraying and learning how to start and maintain garden machinery.

The job also involves chipping, stump grinding and chainsaw use.

Duties to include –

  • Lawn mowing: push along and ride-on
  • Strimming: neat lawns and rough areas
  • Blowing: keeping areas free of leaves and grass cuttings.
  • Spraying: Killing weeds
  • Machinery use and maintenance
  • Also edging lawns, turning beds etc
  • Hedge cutting
  • Small tree pruning

Vacancy Type: Intermediate Apprenticeship

Duration: 18 Months – 24 Months

Personality: Keen, enthusiastic, enjoys outdoor work and working as part of a team. Easy going.

Qualifications: Ideally GCSE Grades A-C in Maths English and ICT or the Equivalent

Skills required: Willingness to learn and ability to work outdoors whatever the weather.

Future Prospects: Full time job at end of apprenticeship.
