Studying at South Staffordshire College

There's a lot more to it than learning!

If you join us to study full or part-time at South Staffordshire College, you'll not only benefit from a course that will help you to succeed in your chosen career, you'll also gain access to a remarkable support network that will help you to make the most of your time here.

Learning with us

We are committed to providing the widest possible access to learning for all. We recognise that your learning success and achievement is influenced by many factors.  South Staffordshire College believe in putting people first and because of this there is great emphasis in providing an environment and services that support you in succeeding with your studies and fulfilling your potential.

Our additional learning support team can help you develop the skills you need for effective learning such as English, Maths, IT or study skills.

When you enrol, you'll have a Progression Coach who will be responsible for making sure you achieve your full potential and progress successfully to employment or your next steps in  education or training. Your Progression Coach  will put you in touch with our Learner Services team at your designated campus where our helpful staff  will be happy to give you information and assistance at any time, on a variety of topics including money matters, personal problems, childcare facilities, public transport, etc.

Specialist agencies

We also have links with specialist support agencies who can help if you have a learning or physical disability. We fully support applications from everyone regardless of colour, race, age, gender, religion, nationality, ethnic origin, disability, sexual orientation or marital status.

Progression and Careers Advice

Our Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) service is designed to help you make an informed decision about how to improve your job prospects or skills, get a qualification, or just learn something new for fun.

We offer a confidential, impartial and objective information, advice and guidance service about learning opportunities and the skills and qualifications needed for employment or career progression.  The progression and guidance team will support you in accessing careers information and on-line resources.  If we are unable to offer you the information, advice and guidance that you require we will direct you to alternative providers and sources of information.

We are happy to answer your enquiry by telephone, email or face to face.  To make an appointment call 0300 456 2424 and ask for Learner Services, email guidance@southstaffs.ac.uk or call in to see us.

The College welcomes enquiries from all people regardless of age, ethnic origin, disability, gender, marital status, background or religion.  If you have a disability, or have problems that affect the way you use our service, we will be happy to discuss the best means of helping you.  We are committed to the aim of offering equality of opportunity to all.  On request, the College will provide information in alternative formats.
