South Staffordshire College's partnership with local club Tamworth FC is proving fruitful as the young people develop both their sporting talent and academic standards.
The academy students get professional guidance with the Lambs full-time coaching staff and gain a level 2 or 3 BTEC sports qualification through their college studies.
At a recent Tamworth FC football match at the club, the achievements of Ahmed Mwimba, Samuel Clarke, Alando Lewis, Stuart Williams and Jason Copeland were recognised during a presentation at half time with trophies handed out by South Staffordshire College Vice Principal of Curriculum and Quality Mark Robertson.
All the students were praised by Mark for their effort, endeavour and teamwork, with the overall Outstanding Student Award for the term going to Samuel Clarke.
"Sam has an impeccable attendance record, work rate and manners", said Mark Robertson, "and this is true of both the academic and football aspects of the course. He has also helped with the coaching of younger footballers and thoroughly deserves this recognition".
