South Staffordshire College is holding a series of Spring workshops to meet the growing demand for short courses from the local community.

The College’s Community Team is running a selection of workshops at its Rodbaston Campus in March, April and May aimed at gardening and floristry enthusiasts.

The first workshop, Grow Your Own, offers practical, hands-on experience for anyone wanting to make the most of their allotment or vegetable garden.  The half day course starts at 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, 24th March and costs £22 per person.

Back by popular demand, South Staffordshire College is also running its Floristry workshops again this year.  Participants can choose either or both the Spring Designs workshop on Saturday 24th March or Crafty Table Designs, on Saturday 19th May.  Both workshops have a maximum of 12 per class and start with registration at 9.45 a.m, finishing at 1 p.m and cost £40 per person.

For the budding florist, the College’s International School of Floristry is running a longer course over a three week period.  Fun with Flowers is appropriate for all levels and participants can have fun creating their own floral designs.  With all materials and sundries provided, it’s great value at £57 per person and takes place every Monday from 16th April through to 30th April, from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.

And finally Design Your Garden workshop is aimed at garden enthusiasts who want to know design basics and beyond, from scale drawings, marking out ground and knowledge of plants and features. This will be held on Saturday 19th May from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. and will cost £25.00.

The Community Team encourages anyone interested to get in touch as soon as possible as they must enrol the week before the workshops commence.
