Recent analysis has shown that South Staffordshire College has a much higher learner profile in the manufacturing, engineering and construction sectors than the national average.

So it comes as little surprise that South Staffordshire College's Workforce Development Team works with many of the country's leading businesses in these sectors as partners in recruiting, training and staff development.
Major businesses such as Bombardier and SME's alike can take advantage of the free advice service which identifies training needs and provides a bespoke response. Just one successful example of twin partnership approach can be seen with UPS, one of the world's biggest operators in shipping, tracking and freight.
South Staffordshire College has been working with UPS to deliver level 2 qualifications in both Carry and Deliver and Warehouse and Storage modules. The college provides a turn key operation which first trains the UPS assessors, then takes the course back into the workplace for the participants.

There are significant benefits to the employer in having staff that are loyal, well-trained and well motivated. Many go on to take further courses and management qualifications. As is frequently said, a company's greatest asset is its people and this is particularly true in a logistics environment where customer service is paramount.
Interested organisations can call 0300 456 2424 and speak to a member of the Workforce Development Team. Local SME's are especially invited to talk to the college.
