South Staffordshire College Announce 600 New Opportunities for Students

South Staffordshire College is announcing no fewer than 600 new student places spread across all four of its campuses at Cannock, Lichfield, Rodbaston and Tamworth.

Open days at all sites on July 17th will give potential students of all ages the chance to explore career paths, talk to staff and see the extensive facilities.

The College offers a wide range of full-time and part-time courses ranging from Bricklaying to Business and is particularly attuned to the needs of the area, with plenty of courses in the construction and engineering sectors along with new technologies and specialist areas such as Football skills and Floristry.

South Staffordshire College has demonstrated what a vibrant environment it provides for learners in a number of ways since it was formed by a merger of three existing colleges in January 2009.

Attracting visits from local politicians, Government Ministers and even the former Prime Minister, the College has strong partnerships with more than 1000 employers and has pioneered initiatives such as the football academy and the Inspire Film Festival along with international successes at the WorldSkills finals.

More than 20,000 students and 1300 staff study and work in the College and its super-college status means that students of all ages  can expect the benefits from impressive combined resources and a substantial pool of teaching talent.

South Staffordshire College students have gone on to achieve successes in industry, commerce and media, including “star” positions such as College Ambassadors, working for the BBC, running their own successful businesses and organising film festivals.  For many others, the College has provided a solid platform for the world of work or to go on to study university degrees.
