The advanced manufacturing and engineering sectors are thriving and it is anticipated that in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire alone, businesses will need upward of 2,600 trained engineers every year for the next decade.

In line with this demand, South Staffordshire College are offering aspiring engineers the opportunity to come and explore their Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering (AME) hub and find out more about the range of opportunities available at the College on Saturday 1st April 2017 from 10am – 1pm. Whether you’re interested in robotics, product prototyping or 3D CAD design, this dedicated engineering event is the perfect opportunity to explore what the College has to offer.

Tamworth Campus is home to the Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Hub.

The College’s AME hub is the perfect learning environment. Home to some of the latest industry standard engineering equipment including 3D printers, CNC lathes and virtual welders, the College offer a wide range of courses and apprenticeships that will help equip learners with the skills and qualifications they need for a rewarding future. Designed to help businesses fill skills gaps and provide young people with a practical route into their chosen career, the hub also provides learners with opportunities to train for careers in the construction, electrical installation and motor vehicle industries too.

Visitors to the engineering event on 1st April will have the chance to explore the facilities and have-a-go at a range of activities including programming the CNC lathes and millers to produce machined parts, programming pick and place robots, designing and producing product prototypes on the 3D printers and much more. There will also be a chance to meet the industry expert staff and talk to them about your individual ambitions and the right course for you.

For those who are interested in attending, there is no need to pre-book, simply drop into the College’s Tamworth Campus between 10am and 1pm on Saturday 1st April.

With hundreds of learners graduating each year, South Staffordshire College are experts when it comes to equipping people with the skills needed for a rewarding future.
