- About Us
Popular attraction The Animal Zone will be taking over South Staffordshire College’s Rodbaston Campus next month for their ‘Spring Festival’. The event, which will be held from 10am – 4pm on Sunday 2nd April 2017 is shaping up to be a real hit and will deliver fun for all the family; all for the standard entry price!
Visitors to the event will enjoy a fantastic schedule of activities that includes the chance to bottle feed the spring lambs*, watch equine displays at the on-site Equestrian Centre, enjoy tractor rides and more. For the wild at heart, there will even be the chance to meet ‘Ziggy’ the carpet python and ‘Audrey’ the Chilean Rose Tarantula in the Animal Zone’s Reptile House.
A short stroll over to the on-site Farm will provide guests with the chance to witness sheep shearing displays and meet South Staffordshire College’s award winning pedigree Hereford herd.
For those who like the idea of getting up close and personal with some of the animals, there will be the option to book a meerkat or lemur experience, which will be available at various times throughout the day.** These experiences, give animal lovers the chance to feed and handle the animals inside their enclosures, under the guidance of expert staff.
For those who are feeling a little more ‘tame’ and want to enjoy the tranquil surroundings of the Rodbaston Estate, guests will also have access to the perfectly manicured gardens and grounds, where an array of plants that have been nurtured by the College’s budding horticulturalists will be on sale.
Along with all the additional attractions at the Spring Festival, visitors will also enjoy access to the entire Animal Zone, which is home to over 750 animals, from Marmosets to Meerkats, Lemurs to Lizards. Refreshments will be available from the Visitor Centre Café and guests can take advantage of free parking and play areas.
The cost of entry to this event will be held at the standard rate of £5.20 for adults and £4.20 per child, with under 3s going free. Families of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) can purchase family tickets for just £16.00.
There is no need to pre-book, simply pay on the gate when you arrive.**
*Sessions with the lambs will run at throughout the day and are offered on a first come first served basis. Guests who would like to feed the lambs should inform staff upon arrival and will then be allocated a time slot.
**With the exception of Meerkat and Lemur Experiences, which must be pre-booked and cost £30 per person, entrance to the Spring Festival cannot be pre-booked and instead operates on a ‘pay on the gate’ basis where standard Animal Zone entry prices apply.
All activities are planned and subject to change. The Animal Zone reserves the right to make amendments to the schedule should they be required.
