- About Us
A key event in the college calendar, National Apprenticeship Week 2017 starts on Monday 6th March. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the annual event, which sees employers, apprentices and providers like South Staffordshire College come together to celebrate successes and guide others who would like to take a practical route into their chosen career.
With an increasing number of learners embarking on apprenticeship programmes at South Staffordshire College, staff are poised for a busy week as they prepare to deliver a variety of workshops and drop in sessions for existing learners, while also visiting local schools to offer advice to those who are soon to complete their exams and are thinking about their next steps.
Learners will also benefit from the college’s fantastic employer links as national house builder Redrow Homes will be visiting the college Rodbaston and Torc campuses to deliver sessions on how studying for an apprenticeship can pave the way for a rewarding career in industry.
Speaking about the week ahead, John Renshaw, Head of Apprenticeships and Employer Engagement at the College says “Apprenticeships are a superb way for people to start their career and also offer a fantastic opportunity for employers to find fresh new talent for their business. National Apprenticeships Week is a celebration of all that Apprenticeships have to offer and we’re looking forward to working with our learners and the wider community to help them explore the opportunities available to them.”
South Staffordshire College offer a wide variety of apprenticeship programmes in subjects including Motor Vehicle, Agricultural Engineering, Business Administration and many more.
