Miller Homes Launches Interior Design Competition With South Staffordshire College

Category: News

Miller Homes Midlands has joined forces with South Staffordshire College to launch an interior design competition for its Creative Arts students. The award-winning housebuilder, along with the team at interior design studio Killer5, has given students the opportunity to design a scheme that could be used in the master-bedroom of a show home.

The design students were given advice on the latest trends, lighting and soft furnishings and will have to consider budgets and the style of their creation. They will then create a mood/theme board and floor plan, and present their ideas and inspiration to the teams from Miller Homes and Killer5. The winner will receive a laptop computer to help with their studies at the college.

Alastair Parsons, sales director for Miller Homes Midlands explains: “We’re always on trend at Miller Homes and this competition highlights the importance of producing the ‘wow’ factor to customers in our show homes. With Miller Homes building a host of new properties just around the corner at our Roman Heights development, this will hopefully inspire the students who are taking part to consider a career within housebuilding. This should really get the creative juices flowing, and we can’t wait to see what they come up with.”

Daniel Degg, business development lead at South Staffordshire College added: “Miller Homes have provided our students with an exciting opportunity to showcase their talent and gain industry experience in a real life scenario. The chance to produce a piece of work to the expectation of interior design specialists Killer5 will be invaluable to our students’ progression in the creative design industry.”
