Hats off to South Staffordshire College

Hats off to South Staffordshire College

Lichfield's magnificent Gothic cathedral, which dates back to the 12th century, was the setting for South Staffordshire College's Higher Education Graduation evening on Friday, 13th November.

The splendid surroundings provided a suitable backdrop for more than 100 students celebrating their success - students from all walks of life; some people making career changes, some returning to education later in life and some going straight from Further Education.

Amongst those receiving their degrees were students from Staffordshire University and the University of Wolverhampton who attended degree courses at South Staffordshire College as part of South Staffordshire College's commitment to providing opportunities for people to study locally.

Special guest Dr David Collins CBE acknowledged the importance of the evening and presented students with their certificates.  He also provided the audience with some wise words for the future.   "Do what you love, the harder you work the luckier you get and be prepared to take new opportunities on board."

Over 350 families, friends and staff joined in the celebrations, enjoying splendid refreshments served by South Staffordshire College's award winning catering students, and the evening's activities were captured on film by South Staffordshire College's production company Armoris.

The evening was a great success - proof indeed that South Staffordshire College helps people make it!
