Animal encounters

The Animal Zone at the visitor centre, Rodbaston Campus is home to a wide variety of exotic, farm and companion animals. We aim to entertain and educate all visitors and operate a full programme of exciting special events throughout the year. The Animal Zone is open from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and during school holidays. You can meet the keepers and enjoy animal encounters throughout the day.

Be sure to visit our shop, which opens at the same times as the Animal Zone. Located by the Animal Zone, it sells a variety of pet products including food and toys, a range of souvenirs and educational toys for children, as well as food and gift items for the whole family.

There's also a spacious tearoom where you can revive yourself with locally produced cakes and sandwiches. Entry into the shop and tearoom is free and we have ample free parking.
