We want you to enjoy your time here and succeed in your studies!
To help you make the most of South Staffordshire College, we've created a remarkable support network that will always be available to you. This section contains information about our Learner Support Services and campus life in general.
Our support network starts with your Personal Tutor, who is responsible for making sure you achieve your full potential and progress successfully to employment or additional education.
For example, if you need extra support to improve your reading, writing, or maths, or have other problems, we will do our very best to help you, on a one-to-one basis if appropriate.
Your Tutor will put you in touch with our Learner Support Services at your local campus. Helpful staff there will be happy to give you information and assistance at any time, on a variety of topics including money matters such as grants and travel expenses, personal problems, childcare facilities, public transport, etc.
We also have links with specialist support agencies who can help if you have a learning or physical disability. We fully support everyone regardless of colour, race, age, gender, religion, nationality, ethnic origin, disability or marital status.
If you wish, you can study Key / Basic Skills alongside your chosen course. These are generic, transferable skills that the government and much of industry consider to be essential for successful lifelong learning and a flexible workforce.
Developing these skills will help you to improve your studies and make you more marketable to employers as well as helping you in your personal life. Key / Basic Skills are available in the following areas:
