Vacancy Description: A superb opportunity to join a successful Company based in Tamworth. PI-KEM celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year and is a well-respected Company within the scientific research sector. You will work either within our Warehouse, providing administration support and learning about our products.

Duties to include:

  • Receiving and processing goods
  • Re-labelling products
  • Adding products to the stock system
  • Stock checks
  • Dispatching goods, including booking couriers
  • Completing and providing safety paperwork where required
  • Using software such as Sage 200 and Sage CRM, Microsoft Office and then various freight booking systems and online databases for safety sheets

Employer Description: PI-KEM is distribution company, based in Tamworth, trading in the Scientific Research sector. Selling Advanced Materials and Equipment into businesses and research establishments across the World representing a number of companies from the US, Europe and the UK.

We currently employ 14 staff, a number who began their careers as apprentices with us. We have worked closely with South Staffordshire College for the past 6 years to deliver a range of different apprenticeships.

Working Week: Monday – Thursday 8.30am to 4.00pm Friday 8.30am to 3pm (32.5 hours p/w)

Training:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Warehousing
  • Functional skills in Maths and English up to Level 2
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

 

Vacancy Type: Intermediate Apprenticeship

Duration: 18 months

Personality: The ideal candidate will be a bright and enthusiastic individual who is dedicated to achieving high standards throughout their work.

The characteristics and skills required are:

  • Organised
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic and keen to learn new skills
  • Have a confident personality and an ability to work under pressure
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

 

Qualifications: Ideally, candidates will have GCSE grades A*-C in Maths and English, or an equivalent qualification. 

Skills Required:

  • The applicant should have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • An understanding of Chemical symbols and formulae would be an advantage
  • Team player who is also able to work well upon their own initiative
  • Strong verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.

 

Future Prospects: Opportunity to progress to next level of Apprenticeship and possibility of a Full Time post with the Company.

Things to Consider: The Company does have high standards as expected by our clients. We do not allow use of personal mobiles or personal use of our IT systems (unless for work or apprenticeship) during the working day.

As the company is small everyone, regardless of status in the company, pitches in when necessary.
