Vacancy Description:  South Staffordshire College are looking to recruit an apprentice to work alongside our current Engineering workshop Instructor/Assessor to train and assess full-time learners and apprentices.

Duties to include:

  • Teaching and assessing learners on lathes,
  • Milling machines,
  • Welding machines,
  • CAD, CAM and CNC’s including the delivery and assessment of pneumatics and hydraulics.

The successful candidate should be qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering and have experience in an industrial environment.

Total hours per week: 37.00

Training: 

  • Level 4 Diploma in Engineering Manufacturing
  • TAQA Assessor’s Award

 

Vacancy Type: Higher Level Apprenticeship

Duration: 3 years

Personality:  The successful candidate must have a passion for high standards, combined with excellent communication skills and good time management. The successful candidate must be willing to learning new skills, and a keen passion for engineering. 

Qualifications:

  • Candidates will ideally have gained GCSE grades A*-C in both Maths, English and ICT, or an equivalent qualification
  • A Level 3 qualification in Engineering is essential for this role.

 

Skills Required:

  • Excellent communication skills are required to liaise with both colleagues and learners effectively
  • You must be flexible and adaptable
  • Effective time-management is essential to plan your workload, this is a vital part of ensuring learner success
  • You must be confident working as part of a team, but also independently.
