Employer Description: We are an independent family run footwear retailer. We have two stores based in Lichfield and Uttoxeter and also an online store. We were established in 1904 and now run by the fourth generation of the same family. We currently have approx.

40 staff between the two stores. Our target market is children’s shoes approx. age 0-11 years old and the over 40 age group. We stock a wide range of brands including Clarks, Ugg, Skechers and Gabor. We are a forward thinking company who pride ourselves in exceptional customer service and excellent quality footwear.

Working Week: Monday – Saturday 6 out of 7 days. 39 hours per week.

Training:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Customer Services.
  • Functional Skills (Maths, English and ICT).
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)

 

Vacancy Type: Intermediate Apprenticeship

 

Duration: 12-18 months.

Personality:

  • Punctual,
  • Clean, smart and professional appearence,
  • A teamplayer, who can also work on their own initiative.

 

Qualifications: Ideally, candidates will hold GCSE grades A*-C in Maths and English, or an equivalent qualification.

Skills Required:

  • Excellent communication skills required to offer a high-standard of customer service to clients coming into the store,
  • Successful candidates will be articulate, detailed individuals,
  • Ambitious, and willing to learn,
  • Flexible.

 

Future Prospects: We have a vast amount of our team who have started as weekend sales assistants and who have progressed and are now in senior roles.

Things to Consider: You will need to be able to get to and from the store. Our expectation is that you arrive at 8.45am to be on the sales floor for our morning meetings held at 8.50am each morning.

You also need to be reasonably fit as the role will involve going up and down stairs throughout the day.
