Vacancy Description: This is an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join an established garage based in Tamworth. The successful candidates will be involved within all aspects of repairing motor vehicles, with training to be provided in all areas.

Duties to include: 

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of all types of petrol and diesel engine vehicles.
  • To assist in undertaking roadworthiness inspections of vehicles in operational use.
  • To assist in diagnosing vehicle defects.
  • To co-ordinate the scheduling of repairs and ordering / receiving of parts etc,
  • To complete all documentation as appropriate,
  • To undertake statutory training as may be required and product training by consultation.

Employer Description: Polesworth Garage Ltd, specialises in the franchising of motors, as well as repairing and servicing vehicles. The garage is seeking an two enthusiastic apprentices to join their team.

Vacancy Location:  49 Grendon Road, Polesworth, Tamworth, B78 1HA.

Working Week: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm (40 hours per week).

Training: 

  • Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Competence
  • Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles L2
  • Functional Skills up to Level 2 in English, Maths and ICT (if required)
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities

 

Vacancy Type:   Intermediate apprenticeship.

Duration:  12 – 18 months.

Personality: You will need to evidence a passion for the motor industry, be hard working with a keen interest to learn new skills.

Qualifications: GCSE grade A* – C in Maths, English and ICT (or equivalent) would be ideal.

Skills required:

  • To be part of an exciting team, you will be expected to have a passion for cars, with good problem solving and practical skills,
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines,
  • Ability to work using own initiative. as well as part of a team,
  • Motivated and enthusiastic,
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.

 

Future prospects: Full-time position may be made available upon completion of the apprenticeship.
