- About Us
South Staffordshire College has made the decision to relocate services and provision from the Cannock Campus to the facilities at the College’s neighbouring campuses at Rodbaston, Lichfield and Tamworth which will be effective from July 2017.
The announcement comes following the recent decision not to proceed with the merger with Walsall College. The decision had to be taken as a result of the financial pressures facing further education resulting in the need to consolidate resources into more specialist, sustainable areas. Learners in the District are also keen to study in other locations operated by the College.
The College will ensure a smooth transition in relocating to its other campuses and will continue to meet the needs of Cannock through the provision of free transport for all learners from the District that are currently on a course at the Cannock Campus with South Staffordshire College or who join us this coming summer. This offer applies to courses that operate, or would operate, at the Cannock Campus.
Chief Executive, Graham Morley said, “South Staffordshire College needs to reduce its operating costs to ensure its continuing sustainability and long-term future as the provider of further education to the community it serves.”
“The Board made the tough decision to relocate services and provision from Cannock Campus in response to the financial pressures in further education and the need to consolidate into more specialist and sustainable campuses.”
All staff have been informed. The College is in constant dialogue with the unions and have engaged with them from the outset.
We will continue to keep you fully informed with the changes at the Cannock Campus and will be in touch in due course to confirm your free transport arrangements.
